And... pop! Open Cellars 2024!
Press release

Lausanne, April 22, 2024

This year, the Caves Ouvertes Vaudoises are pulling out all the stops and promising some magnificent oenological discoveries!

After a year of hard work in the vineyards and then in the cellars, it's time for the winegrowers of Vaud to get ready and show off their new vintages. This year, almost 250 winegrowers are taking part in the 14th Caves Ouvertes Vaudoises. Festive and generous, the event is an invitation to plunge into the heart of Vaud's terroirs, to meet the men and women who passionately shape our winegrowing heritage.

“Between the 7 independent wineries in Ollon, where each winemaker invites visitors to explore his or her own world, and the grouping of 12 producers in the historic Cloître district of Aigle, this year we're offering our visitors every possible configuration.”

Alain Emery  President of the Chablais Wines Association.

“They'll be able to enjoy the intimate atmosphere of the cellars, or the festive atmosphere of the Cloître, thanks to a program of events set up for the occasion: local bakers and brewers, local produce, music groups, brass bands, bell ringers and alp horns! More than 100 winegrowers on the Côte are taking part in this 2024 vintage of Caves Ouvertes. “Vufflens-le-Château is transformed into a crossroads of wine discoveries,” explains Chantal Chambaz, President of Morges Wines. “10 winegrowers will gather in the village square, with over 70 wines to taste in a convivial atmosphere. The Petit Train des Vignes, which runs between Morges and Vufflens-le-Château, and our specially chartered shuttles will provide easy access to all the wineries in our region. We also invite wine lovers to discover our vineyards on foot and enjoy the extraordinary panorama of Lake Geneva,” emphasizes Chantal Chambaz.

In Lavaux, the “Lavaux Angels” scheme will be renewed for the third year. Coordinated by the Lavaux World Heritage Association, this group of some 70 volunteers welcomes visitors at the main entrance points, the Cully, Chexbres and Grandvaux train stations, scans passes and distributes glasses, and directs them to the various villages and towns according to the number of visitors.

“Our aim is to relieve our winemakers of these time-consuming logistical tasks so that they can spend as much time as possible with visitors and concentrate on sharing their knowledge.
