Another success for the Caves Ouvertes Vaudoises!
Press release

Lausanne, 19 May 2024

A fine vintage for the 14th Caves Ouvertes Vaudoises. The Office des Vins Vaudois recorded over 90,000 visits to wine cellars throughout the canton. Wine lovers were undeterred by the vagaries of the weather, proving once again the attractiveness and excellence of Vaud's winegrowing expertise. More than 260 winegrowers were on hand to share their passion and offer tastings of their latest vintages throughout the weekend. Both the Office des Vins Vaudois and the 260 winegrowers present were delighted with the success of the event.

The event enabled participants to discover a diversity of terroirs, grape varieties and exceptional vintages that are the pride of our regions. ‘The Caves Ouvertes are a great way of putting the canton in the spotlight,’ says Benjamin Gehrig, Director of the Office des Vins Vaudois.

‘They show just how rich and attractive our wine tourism offer is. More and more visitors from other cantons are making the trip. That's a very good sign. In addition to the wine world, the Caves Ouvertes generate significant economic spin-offs for the restaurant and hotel sectors. I'd like to extend my warmest thanks to our partners, thanks to whom we can make the event even more convivial: VAUD+ CERTIFIE D'ICI with its certified local products, the Association des Boulangers, Pâtissiers et Confiseurs vaudois with its delicious specialities, not forgetting Gruyère AOP.’

‘Our communication campaign met with a very positive response, particularly on social networks. It perfectly underlined what we're trying to achieve with the Caves Ouvertes: an event that's both festive and popular. Our wines have the immense quality of being able to bring together a wide audience from very different backgrounds’.

Céline Baechler  Project Manager - l’Office des Vins Vaudois.
